I am so excited to announce the 1st year anniversary of Baghdad cuisine website, I had over 2,000 viewed for the past year. I have really enjoyed and loved starting cooking these recipes and share it with everyone. These recipes have brought back beautiful memories of my mom cooking. One of my goals in Starting this website is keeping my mom memories alive with me and my second goal is helping orphan children around the world. Also, it has brought many memories of my childhood back home in Baghdad.

For the past year, I have developed a new and different technique to cook new recipes. I have learned a great deal from my daughter Alaa, (she is nutritionist graduated from Rutgers state university and she is recently studying master degree in public health at Rutgers) she has introduced many different spices, fruit, and vegetables that I have not included in our regular diet. She was also huge advisor for changing our diet to a healthier one, by using fewer oils in cooking, less sweet and more fruits, drinking 4 bottles water (16 fl oz) every day, including lots of vegetables in daily diet, always bake and not fry, always try new and different fruit and vegetable to eat, do not be afraid to change your regular diet. Lastly, the most important thing to include in your diet is to exercise, by walking at least half hour every day. As I have followed these tips I am happy to say that I have lost 13 Ibs for the past 4 months without being hungry or starving myself. Like they say, “you are never too old to learn”
