Labneh is strained yogurt, it is a lot richer in flavor than plain yogurt. It has a slightly sour, tangy, creamy, and buttery taste. Labneh is a Middle Eastern main dish that is eaten for a breakfast or as an appetizer.
In this recipe, you can use Labneh or plain yogurt. The Labneh can be found in many of the Middle Eastern stores. Labneh is used in many Iraqi dishes they usually make it as a drink called the Ayran or a dip or salad and sometimes is cooked in a dish. (please check the website for many of our labneh or yogurt recipes). As for the Zaatar and Sumac can be found in many Middle Eastern stores also it is available on many online stores.
The Labneh with zaatar & Sumac dish can be eaten with Iraqi flatbread, pita bread, or Samoon. You take little pieces of bread and dip it in the labneh no fork or spoon needed. I usually add olives, cucumbers, and parsley on top.

¼ cup olive oil
3 tablespoons zaatar
2 tablespoons sumac
