The whole effort of making the dolma is to bring your loved ones to the table to enjoy a full home-cooked meal. All the ingredients in this recipe are available at any grocery store and they are very affordable to buy. This recipe will be excellent for vegetarians, all you need to do is to remove the meat products. Also, it will make a wonderful recipe for vegan there is no animal product that was used in this recipe. Keep in mind this recipe Serves 10 to 15 people, so plan accordingly to the number of people you will be serving. you can take out any of the ingredients that are listed, also you can add any ingredients that you prefer (except the olive oil it helps to cook the rice and makes it tender). you can also lessen or add the amount of the ingredient that is listed for example the ground beef, rice, chicken, spices, herbs, and the number of stuffed vegetables. Keep in mind reducing the number of ingredients also will reduce the preparation and cooking time. The important thing to keep in mind in this recipe is the amount of liquid added to the pot to cook the dolma. Cooking this recipe several times will help you to perfect it. practice makes you better. When I was a child, my mother would make the most delicious, aromatic, and enticing dolma by adding herbs, spices, ground beef, and rice, and many more other ingredients. Then she would take all these wonderful ingredients and stuff them in the grape leaves, cabbage leaves, Swiss chard leave, zucchini, tomatoes, green pepper, and onions. The Aroma of the dolma can be smelled miles away. It would make you hungry than ever. Dolma is time-consuming, but it is truly worth the effort. Dolma Is many layers of goodness, the first layer is the meat or the chicken then the stuffed vegetables by order of cooking time, with the longest cook times at the bottom of the pot. There are so many versions of dolma just within Iraq, as well as outside of Iraq. One of My favorite version of dolma is my mom's as I have taken her recipe and added my own version to it. Dolma is my family favorite. When I cook it, my children Would literally surround the pot and keep asking when it will be done, then they start to open the lid of the pot and pick the dolma while it is cooking they would start to eat it even when it is not fully done.
