
It is traditional Arabic sweet cooked in many homes in the Middle-East. It is made with Kunafa phyllo dough, Ricotta cheese, sweet butter, walnuts and brown sugar. Then syrup poured over the Kunafa mix. It is heavenly. It is very simple and easy to make.
Ingredient:
1 package Kunafa phyllo dough
2 cups Ricotta cheese
2 cups sweet butter
2 cups walnuts
1 cup brown sugar
Syrup
2 cups of sugar
1 ½ cup of water
2 tablespoons rose water (optional)
2 or 3 pieces of cardamom open
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
Instruction:
Cut the kunafa shredded Phyllo Dough into small pieces.


Melt the butter then add to the Kunafa

Butter the cookie sheet generously

Spread the kunafa shred into the cookie sheet

Add the ricotta cheese, spread over the kunafa dough

Add another layer of the kunafa dough

Mix the walnuts and the brown sugar together add it over the kunafa

Then add kunafa dough over the walnut

Heat the oven for 400 degrees put the kunafa in the oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.

Making of the syrup:
Add the water, sugar, rose water, lemon juice and cardamom in a pot and bring to boil over high heat stir the mixture constantly until the sugar dissolved, lower the heat and let it simmer. It will take about 5 to 7 minutes or until the mixture is thickened.

Let the Kunafa and the syrup to cool off completely. Add the syrup to kunafa and enjoy!
